Sally Potter’s short film, LOOK AT ME, stars Bardem as a volatile rock n’ roll drummer in a battle of wills with the frustrated director of a fundraising gala (Rock). As the film progresses, the true nature of their relationship is revealed. This is the first serious, dramatic role for Chris Rock.  The provocative film received its world premiere in Official Selection at the Venice Film Festival in September.

Rehearsals for a fundraising gala become the arena for a struggle between two men: one the gala director and the other, a talented but unstable rock drummer. As the battle of expression and control escalates against a relentless rhythmic backdrop (featuring tap dancer Savion Glover), the public and private selves explosively collide.

Bleecker Street will release the short film exclusively on their app in January 2023. LOOK AT ME joins other films from acclaimed directors Bleecker has worked with including Joe Penna, Riley Stearns, Alex Houston Fischer and Academy Award winner, Gavin Hood.

Trailblazing director SALLY POTTER’s bold adaptation of Virginia Wolf’s classic novel, ORLANDO(starring Tilda Swinton), first brought her work to a global audience. It was followed by The TANGO LESSON (1996), THE MAN WHO CRIED (2000), YES (2004), RAGE (2009), GINGER & ROSA (2012), THE PARTY (2017) and THE ROADS NOT TAKEN (2020). Her films have won over 40 international awards and received both Academy Award and BAFTA nominations. She was awarded an OBE in 2012.

Christopher Sheppard founded Adventure Pictures when he first joined forces with Sally Potter in 1990. The Oscar-nominated ORLANDO marked his debut as a feature film producer. LOOK AT ME is the ninth film that they have made together as a producer/director team.

Academy Award^® winner Javier Bardem has captivated audiences worldwide with his diverse performances. He most recently starred in Aaron Sorkin’s BEING THE RICARDOS, for which Bardem was nominated for an Academy Award and SAG Award for “Best Actor.”
