Tommaso Acquarone’s OSCAR ®-qualifying short film MY EYES shares the story of a woman on a quest to face the truth

Writer/Director Tommaso Acquarone’s MY EYES stars actress Kseniya Rappoport and shares a story of a woman who finds a familiar face whilst driving in the rain and offers him a ride home: a journey that could change her life forever. After winning the Best Film Award at The Palace International Film Festival, MY EYES has qualified to be considered for the 2023 Academy Awards®.

Italian writer/director Tommaso Acquarone directed “Film on the River” for the brand Emilio Pucci (LVMH), featured at the Milan Fashion Week. Before directing his own films this talented filmmaker worked as a director’s assistant for Gabriele Muccino (“Pursuit of Happiness”, “Seven Pounds”). He is currently developing his debut feature.

Broadcasted by Rai Cinema, MY EYES is produced by Redibis Film and Tommaso Acquarone. Founded in 2012 by Daniele Segre and Daniele De Cicco, Redibis Film has the ambition of realizing movies capable of combining an auteur quality with a commercial value. Redibis Film is currently working on several feature films: in post-production, “Human Animal” by Alessandro Pugno (co-produced with Spain and Mexico, with the support of Eurimages, Ibermedia, MiC and ICAA); in development, “Otter” by Srdan Vuletic (in co-production with Montenegro and Croatia), “Waterdrop” by Robert Budina (in co-production with Albania and Romania) and the feature documentary set in Israel “The Doorkeeper” by Alessandro Stevanon.

MY EYES is released by the international sales agent Lights On.

The young roadside juggler is, as first time on the screen, João Farinha. The stunning cinematography was created by Andrea Benjamin Manenti and the film was edited by Massimo Da Re.

MY EYES has won numerous high-profile awards and has also been selected for more than twenty well-respected film festivals, including the International Rome Film Festival, the Brest European Short Film Festival and the Valencia Cinema Jove International Film Festival.

The OSCAR® shortlist will be announced on December 21st.
