Filipe Melo’s OSCAR-qualifying short film THE LONE WOLF (O Lobo Solitário) shares a story of a radio host whose show is interrupted by an unsolicited call

Director Filipe Melo’s award-winning film THE LONE WOLF (O Lobo Solitário) is sweeping the awards circuit and also won a coveted Sophia Award (The Portuguese Academy). On Viva FM’s late-night show, the host Vitor Lobo (played by Adriano Luz) receives a call on air from an old friend, a call that could change everything. This memorable film has qualified to be considered for the 2023 Academy Awards. 

One night on Viva FM’s late night show, host Vitor Lobo gets a phone call from a friend who wants to catch up on old times.

Filipe Melo is a musician, film director, and author. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and since then he works as a jazz pianist, producer and orchestrator. He is also a comic book and graphic novel author – his books are published in the US (Dark Horse Comics, IDW), Brazil, France, Poland, Turkey, Spain and Portugal. His latest, Ballad for Sophie, was nominated for 4 Eisner Awards, including best graphic album and best writer and it’s being developed as a TV series by Universal International Studios. He has composed music for films and directed music videos and award-winning short films.

This must-see film is produced by Sandra Faria who has a degree in Theatre Production and Management and has directed more than a hundred projects throughout her multifaceted career. In 2015 she founded her the company, Força de Produção a theatre, tv and film production company and artists/musicians agency. The stunning cinematography was created by Vasco Viana.
