Jonatan Etzler’s Student Academy Award winning film “Get Ready With Me” tackles the dark side of our social media obsession

Producer Johan Lundström and Director Jonatan Etzler’s live-action short film Get Ready With Me is an unpredictable thriller that combines grim satire with the topical issues of teen angst, social media, and fame. This important film stars Swedish Academy Award winner Shanti Roney and newcomer Miriam Benthe. 

Aspiring youtuber Vendela decides to get up in front of her high school class and show a disturbing video that disrupts the lesson and causes her teacher Lukas to fear for her life.

Swedish born producer Johan Lundström completed a Bachelors Degree in film production at the Stockholm University of the Arts, he now works at the Swedish independent production company Stella Nova Film. 

Swedish Director Jonatan Etlzer graduated in film directing Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, he also studied at the Stockholm University and Stockholm Film School. Jonatan directed several award-winning shorts that have been shown on TV and in theatres. His previous short film Intercourse was chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick and selected for the Los Angeles Film Festival, SXSW, and Aspen Shortfest.

Get Ready With Me was written by Amanda Högberg and Axel Nygren, the cinematography was created by Nea Asphäll and the music by Andreas Ahlm. This award-winning film has qualified to be considered for a 2019 Oscar after winning the Student Academy Gold Award.
